As my project plans grow closer my friend that is helping me keeps arguing that I should stay with the Auto and not do the M5OD change over.

Anyway, Moveras A4LD remans are available through Advance Auto Parts with 2 year warranty (new rad required) I have had very good experiences AAP.

Just wondering what the hands on and transmission guys here think of Moveras?

Thanks!

I have no experience with the company you mention, but if you make sure your in-radiator trans cooler is completely spotless, and you also add an external aux cooler to the return line, I wouldn't hesitate to keep running the A4LD if an auto is truly what you prefer (I'm a stickshift person, so I'd most likely end up doing the M5OD regardless).

4x4J, it's like an on going argument. Like you I love 5 speed, and so far the cost is way less than an automatic replacement

I would not buy an auto trans from AAP. Or any other parts store for that matter. Maybe if they were getting them from Jasper.

I have even been told by a Retail parts pro at the local Advance that he would never buy and engine or trans from them.

I have a Jasper in my 86 restored Pontiac Adsm, only, 65k on it! it's oil never gets dark, shop guy says: goes, "sure you want an oil change?" looks like you just had one" lol

Personally I would still do the manual swap. Cost is less, but labor is more. the end benefit that I see is that you will do this trans change ONCE and likely never be back in to it again. IF you do wreck the M5OD, they are cheap and easy to rebuild. (and a dime a dozen in wrecking yards around here)
