(moved) 84' XLT Project

If the parts truck has a good rust free or more rust free bed and stuff I would get it off of that truck. Looks like a good starter truck.

Yup, dad bought it 3 years ago as a farm truck and we used it only 3 or 4 times, and then the lines broke. And for the last 2 years I have been begging to work on it, and now that I have the chance, I will =)

I like the cab, and the bed, those are in OKAY shape, might need some patching, and maybe some other work aswell, but I can do it little by little. The frame is shot (mostly), the engine needs work, the tranny needs work, the transfer case is questionable, but works, and the 4wd is awsome!

Gonna need these parts for now:

Headlights

Rear Window (mine is very rusty, and the glass is old, starting to just fall apart)

Door Seals

Grill

Bed Panel Corners (to patch mine) OR Bed Panels

and see about how much the local jy wants for a ranger frame if I trade in some of my ranger's parts

(Parts for trade by jy: Tailgate Cover, Bed Fenders, etc.)

The junkyard I am going to is a private yard, so prices should be cheap.

Anyone got a good deal on some side mirrors? I can pay $5 + shipping.

anyone else have one of these on your first gen?

i saw a couple in some B2's with the fancy trim package

they are useful, I can read a map with that thing, had to when I got stuck in the woods with it once, I had to use my topomap to find my way back, not very useful, but I can read them clearly.

Two years ago I bought a ranger for $50 parted it out but kept the over head thing (plus a few other things) and put it in my truck due to my light in my radio being bad and the socket for the light bulb being junk too. The only problem with mine is the map light wont stay up to keep the button pressed so it would want to keep the bulb on at all times so had to take it out. Other then that I really like having it, adds a nice little touch to my ranger. I cant find anyother rangers in any JY with those in them.

can you show me a pic? I wanna see it, because never seen another 0_0

Here you are, my interior of my truck was factory tan, different seats and dash have been put in, the console came out of a truck that was also tan. Came out of a ranger that had the word "Explorer" on the bed and fancy decals from the factory.

Heres a picture to show what it looks like turned on displaying time, also display the date and e-time of a trip you take.

Thanks! whats the light made out of? I am wondering if it was the first clock put into rangers?

hey if you still need mirrors pm me, i got a extra set

Your PM is full, put it on your account profile.

Lookin for airbag inserts, any ideas on installing airbags in the old trucks?

Im going to yes to it being the first clock put into a ranger, the map light thing, which is made out of metal, came out of a truck with the knob type radio. My truck originaly had that but years ago my dad put a digital one in my truck, other then the bulb not working, radio works great, just had the get a new dash insert for it and a few mods to the warning lights area. I like the wood look better then the silver dash faces.
