Mounting up my plow...need pics

I got a small plow off of a bronco II and am in the process of putting it on my '96. It will be just for personal use so I'm not worried about it handling it. Anyway, there is subtle differences obviously and I just wanted to see if anyone had pics of how their plow frame mounts up. It's a Meyer frame but I'm interested in any of them you have

Really concerned about how to attach it to the frame...if that helps..

Meyer made a couple different plow mounts, how bout throwing up a picture of exactly what you have.

Well here's the only pic I have with me now. I kinda put it up there and set it in place but I need to know how far forward I ned to mount it and all that. I know there will be some custom work on it but just trying to get a sense of what everyone else has so I can figure it out better.

You might already know this but that area of the frame with all the triangle holes and accordioned metal is a crumple zone and is designed to crush in a front impact. You want to find ways to mount as much of that plow frame behind the "crumple" zone as you can.

I doubt you will be able to keep your fog light valance with the plow.

Bruker - Yeah, I kinda thought about that already. This is the clean side of the frame, the truck was quished when I got it and the other frame horn isn't in as good a shape. I'm going to have to do a little fab work anyway. but like I said, I'd like to see some pics of the "right way" to do it.

Plum - The valance is already thrashed, not a big deal.

Yes, it is a crumple zone.... but there is no way around it for a solid plow mount. My F-150 is the same way, it's got a crumple zone and the mount is just beefy enough to sturdy things up, bolts to both the bumper brackets and farther back on the frame past the crumple zone. Plowed with it a couple times, no problem.


OP: Looks like you might have a mount off something older, so there is going to be a bit of fab work, usually they made them so the bolt holes would line up with ones in the frame to save time.

Yeah it was an 88 B2 so i was assuming it is the same (ish) frame as a gen1 ranger??

Front end of the frame would be the same as a Gen 1 Ranger. IIRC, aside from the ends of the frame horns being open on the Gen 2 Rangers and Bronco IIs, they had largely the same frame too. Gen 3 is where they got into those crumple zones.

Ok, Little update for you guys here (2months overdue but better late than never i guess). Wanted to use the plow but didnt want to have to remove my bumper or lower valance. Also wanted it to look half way decent. Soooo. I did some figurin', held up the front mount to the truck with some jackstands and a bungee.

Then did some measurin' and made me a nifty little cardboard template and cut some clearance slits in the valance....

then i figured out where the best spots for bolts was, drilled 'em an tacked 'em from the front...

Transfered my template onto some 1/4" diamond plate:

Drilled the holes for the lower cross bar and upper llift bar and Viola!...

Plow truck!
