This may already been posted but I couldnt find it. I need to mount a CB in my 97 ranger but it cant really find a place where it fits well. I would like it down by the floor by the ashtray so I can hide the wires. Can anyone show me pics or tell how they've done theirs?

Ill send you some pics when i get home from work.
Is your truck manual?
EDIT: JK lol I thought your truck was an 87 not 97 haha i can still send you some if you want lol, but its nothing like what yours will look like

Yeah its a 97 auto. Ive put a couple cb's in my old B2's pretty easily but this is tricky because of the airbag on/off switch

I've got a aftermarket 1 DIN headunit and mounted the cb just below it in the stock Double DIN mounting. works nice, that little vent hole on the side of the dash lets the sound pass through very nicely

i have mine to the left of the glovebox
but i also have an 85 so i hav no idea what your interor is like
good luck with it

Ive got a 97 with the auto. I removed my ash tray and cigarette lighter and mounted the C.B. in their location. I had to "modify" the back side of the cupholder tray to make it fit. I have a big ol' C.B. unit. Ill go snap a few pictures once my tosies warm up. Ive been working in the garage all day. WOOHOO School got canceled.

We did have a Radio thread on the old TRS, guess its not here anymore. Probably something we can talk to Jim about.

If mounting a CB is an issue. Theres other kinds. I use a Cobra 75 handle. Everything is in the mic, controls and speaker. Just have to mount a power box under the dash. I use to have a Cobra 29 and loved it for its features. But it was just too huge and I need my power point and astray back (I don't smoke, needed it to hold loose coins). And the Cobra 75 lets me rest it in the Ranger's cup holders.

I love CBs. Love to hear where the dog hunters are trying to tresspass at. :)

Eh put in on your dash? If it cant go down by the ashtray.

i mounted mine conveniently on the roof looks good and the wires can easily be hid by a piece of loom, i tryed mounted it on the floor but i have a manual and my 29 is to wide and would have looked like shit. what brand/size cd do you plan on getting

Mine is mounted exactly like Ranger4banger97.
Thats the way to go man, if you decide to sell it, you can just put the ashtray back where it goes, and plug the lighter back in. Theres 2 holes right behind the ashtray where you can bolt up a bracket to for the CB. I think my Cardomain does a whole write up on it.

i have the same size radio as ranger4banger97, and im trying to find a place to mount it in my 96. its a stick shift so i cant put it where his is. i also cannot mount it to the front of the seat. i may have to go with a top of the dash mount or ceiling mount. still working on it. i got my truck rack and my toolbox put in today. so im also working on antenna mounts. i had dual 36" fiberglass whips on my 93. this is going to be different though. once i get it mounted ill try to as some pictures.

Bench or Buckets? I guess by your post, you have a bench. How bout behind the seat on that panel with the carpet beneath the window? Ive also seen them mounted on the glove box, personally i thought it looked pretty cool.

its and extended cab so that rules out the back wall mount. not sure how the wife would like a radio between her knees (insert inappropriate comment here!) i might take life all apart, not sure yet. i like the portability of those little $50 radios but i wirk in the big woods where i need broacast power, with tuned antennas ive broadcast clearly for 3 miles. heres hoping i get a similar result!
