Pulled the motor outa my 88 bronco and replacing it with another 2.9, my problem is I can't get the dang new motor bolt back up to my transmission. Any ideas? Iv been trying for hours
Did you put your old flexplate or flywheel onto the replacement engine? If you pulled a flexplate and put on a flywheel, did you remove the spacer on the crankshaft? If you have a manual tranny, did you use a clutch alignment tool to center it? If an automatic, did you first put the torque converter onto the tranny to get it fully inserted?
Also iirc the pilot bearing are different sizes for different make of transmissions. There was (iirc) 3 diff transmissions that were in Rangers. I can't remember all of them off the top of my head or the pilot bearing sizes.
