hey guys i was just wondering what is the easiest way to pull the motor out of my BII its a 1984 with an auto trans, any information is great, the more detailed the better. thanks in advance :icon_thumby:

I'd leave the tranny in there. Unbolt the exhaust at the manifolds, take the nuts off the flexplate and push the converter back as far as you can, take the bolts out of the tranny-block, unhooks everything and unbolt the mounts. Lift the motor to get it free and gently work it forward while someone underneath makes sure the converter doesn't come out with it. The engine, with the radiator out and fan off, can pretty much be lifted straight up.

You could pull the t-case off and leave the tranny on. Then you need to lift the nose of the engine way up and pull it almost vertically out. I don't like doing that, but it works. I would rather take the time to unbolt everything and take it apart in as small a pieces as possible.

Do it just like you would if you were taking the trans out, then undo the mounts and pull up.
