Im sorry if somebody has already asked this but how many quarts of oil does the 4.0 v6 take? and what is the best high milage oil?

4.0 takes 5 quarts with the filter. All of them. I personally recommend Motorcraft or Castrol 5W-30 synthetic blend. They both come from the same tanks, just get different labels at the bottling plant.

Should do you good for 5K mile OCI. I've seen it run in engines with over 200K and no smoking or burning.

Before this thread becomes a pissing contest about brands of oil, let me say that the brand is largely unimportant. As long as its the correct viscosity, meets current API ratings, and you change it regularly, the engine will live a long, happy life.

As for high-mileage oils, Valvoline Maxlife is good stuff.

Motorcraft oil is made by Conoco-Phillips. Is Castrol related to them?

i like 2 qts mobil one 10-30 and 3 qts havoline 10-30.

I'm with schmoo.. Use whatever is the cheapest! Oil is just oil! No matter what satisied customers say about their oil.. from all the reports you't think all oil was good...and you would be correct in your thinking. I use whatever is on sale and I run it 9,000 miles. Never have had an oiling problem.
