Motor oil finally reached the clutch

I took it all apart minus the flywheel(don't have air impacts and I'm turning the whole motor with the wrench), I did manage to have enough room to shine a light behind the flywheel, and the seal is there, no oil leaks, the back of the flywheel is spotless, clean as a whistle.

It all came from the valve cover. Put it all back together with the proper ventalation and so far, no more leaks. Hopefully, we got it this time.

You're posting about Valve Cover Breathers over on RPS, and oil leaks here, on TRS. If you'd post all of the symptoms together on 1 (or, both) -- you may get quicker - more accurate diagnostic suggestions from your bud's on the websites. :buttkick:

Sorry, just trying to spread the word and get responses from different people.

At first, I didn't know they were related, I posted here first, learned about the valve covers later, then posted on RPS because pinellas50 really knows his stuff.

so i was right about the valve covers?

so i was right about the valve covers?

Yes and no.

Yes as in it looked like it was the rear main seal when it wasn't

No as in the bolts weren't overtightened, just didn't have a correct ventalation setup.

Yes, it was the valve covers -- assisted by an over pressurized crankcase.

I wonder if he's using cork? Tell me he's not! :fie: :not_i: :no2:

Not anymore:icon_thumby:

But, this has helped out a lot. My MPG was 13.8-14.2, now with the breathers it's 16.5 and climbing!!

Sweetness!!!!
