can somebody tell me where i can order my motor mounts to put a 351 in my 1983 ranger that has a 2.3 in it?

Any parts store that stocks 1969 - 1986 ford f-150 V8 motor mounts. Then you can either weld a plate to the crossmember or buy the adapter plate to bolt to the cross member from james duff or advance adapters.

I cant tell you the exact location of where to weld the plate. But i can tell you exactly what i did to locate it. I got the engine mounts bolted the snugly to the block, then i cut 2 1/4" plates aproximately the same size and drilled a hole in each big enough for the stud on the engine mount to go threw. Then i losely bolted those to the mounts. After all that was done i lowered the engine into the exact position that i wanted and then straightened the plates out and tac welded them to the frame.

then i unbolted the mounts from the plates and lifted the engine back out. Then marked where the plates were and ground off the welds and ground off a section of the frame so that i wouldn't have any clearance issues with the mount studs and welded the plates back on in the exact same position that they were in.

If i had to do all this over again, the only thing i would change would be to buy my headers and bolt them on before lining up the plates, might make it easier. Im not sure yet, still dont have headers.

Theres always the option of buying the adapter plates that will just bolt onto the frame.

If you use mid-80's convertible Mustang mounts, you won't have to grind a thing. Use the Search button. Search TRS and RPS. So much has already been posted. Why repost?

Do you have to grind the frame to get the mounts to fit with the plate from advance adapters? Do you still have to grind for a 302?

Go to JamesDuff.com I think it is they sell already made custom fit mounts.

Whether or not you have to grind the frame depends on what you run for exhaust.

If you prefer to just buy the mounts and pads for a 351W they are available from Summit for about $93.00
The "Vert Mounts" are probably less than HALF that much and are available from most parts stores. One will have to drill and grind slots (or use a Cutting Torch) to install the vert mounts to the crossmember. One could also use 4.0L mounts and manufacture adapter plates. That takes a lot of time, though. I'll not elaborate, use the search feature.
