motor mounts

No, motor mounts are engine specific...

Also incorrect. You can not bolt a set of mustang mounts to a 4 cylinder motor and bolt it to the ranger. To the original poster, if you meant to post in the V8 forum and want to know if you can use F150 mounts to bolt a V8 into a ranger, that answer is no. Mustang mounts can be and have been used to bolt a V8 into rangers up 1998, but its not just a bolt in application. The motor needs to be lowered into the engine bay, with the mounts on, you need to mark where to drill holes into the crossmember, remove the motor, drill the holes then reinstall the motor. An easier way is to use the stock 2.9/4.0 rubber mounts and have a plate fabbed that bolts to the rubber mounts. I prefer the plate mounts over the mustang mounts. The plate mounts are less troublesome, less steps, and allows for adjusting the motor position without redrilling more holes...

Ok well no, I wanted to know if I could do that cuz the v8 motors are significantly heavier, and it would be a more solid mount for the engine, because I want it held as strongly as possible, or are there heavyweight mounts for the 2.3?

Make your own, use some plate, and some urithane bushings, like sway bar bushings.

Oksleeper, why did you capitalize every word in your sentence?

Forum software kills all my caps when I use caps lock. Even the ones that are correct.

The dual stud type engine mounts on most 2.3L engines are also used on a F250... I'm running the solid rubber version on my truck and they work fine, a little cheaper than the hydraulic version, I've abused my motor mounts (running my truck in a tractor pull has to be the worst thing you could do to them :)) and they work fine, I did have to replace them last time I had the engine out but that was my fault, the nut on one side was gone and the other side was finger tight when I went to pull the engine, both of those studs had issues...

stack 3 hockey pucks on top of eachother, drill 1/2 hole in the center of them and run a 1/2 bolt up through just use some heavy duty washers top and bottom.

What year and motor F250?

'89-93 full size trucks with the 300/4.9L, according to O'Reily that includes the Bronco and F150 through F350...

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, right now my drivers side is held down by a chain. Haha
