I have a 1990 ford ranger that had a 2.9 in it. It's 2wd. I have my 302 with a t5 ready to drop in. I have the fox body motor mounts bolted on. Problem is that I can't get it to drop in correctly. I opened up the passenger side hole and on the drivers I opened the 2 holes and cut the middle out to slot it. One side will drop down perfectly and the other side motor mount stud hits the frame. Any help is grateful. I don't know what I'm missing. I searched and all I see is people say its a drop in procedure. Thanks

Using Mustang mounts can be tricky, and time consuming. Keep trimming until the mount drops in, or unbolt the mount from the block, bolt it up to the x-member then lower the motor to it, with about 1/4" between the mount and the motor, start the bolts, once you have them started, then lower the motor...

I had to do the same. I just cut a slot in the cross member untill the mounts dropped in while bolted to the motor. On my 92 the passenger side motor mount bolt was hard to get to to tighten it. But with a wiggler and extension it can be tightened. Good luck.
I can send you a picture if you need it.
