I have a 1992 ranger with a 3.0 v6. It doesnt run. The guy i got it from said it was a burnt valve. I havent fooled with it much i only payed $300 for it. I can get a running chevy 2.5l 4 cylinder with 5 speed for $400. The 2.5 was TBI but i converted it to carb for my buddy that has it. How hard would it be to put it in the ranger? What would i do for the clutch ? I know i would have to get a clutch pedsl assembly since the ranger is auto. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

If you want to use that 2.5l chevy, go get an s10. Pull a part shouldn't be far from you, and a motor would cost you less than 200. Grab a replacement 3.0 and go...

If i wanted an s10 i would get one. I have the ranger thats junked out needs alot of body work and stuff. The reason a chevy 2.5 is my buddy has one that i know runs. Yea i can go to pull a part and get a 3.0 for 200 but i wouldnt know the condition of it without putting it in and trying to crank it. So i can live with spending 400 cause I know the 2.5 runs and runs real good. Another reason is its 5 speed where my ranger is auto. I just want something to put around in the woods.
