most miles 98 ranger 3.0

have a chance to buy a 98 ranger 4x4 3.0 ex cab great shape but has 245k kinda thinking this truck may be wore out any feed back thanks and its a 5 speed 1500bucks

Engines are easy and cheap to come by. If it seems to run great now I would look more closely at everything like drivetrain. If you get a chance to test drive it take it to a shop or even a rapid oil change and tell them you are thinking of buying the truck. Ask if you can look underneath and also get their opinoin, they might see/know something you may have missed. Show the guy $1200 cash and I would bet you get a good truck for the price.

i wouldnt worry about the motor being worn out, like Oach83 said, the drivetrain may be an issue and things like wheel bearings, u joints and other wear items are probally gonna need replaced.
