So the boys down at Ford apparently have been shot in the head or something and now have all of their models mixed up.

They are trying to pass THAT off as an Explorer. I'm allegedly not as smart as them boys out in Detroit, but even I can clearly see that they took a Taurus X and slapped a Flex front clip on it.

This is a much uglier picture than most but the color scheme accentuates the body lines that I'm talking about.

So in reality they are killing the Explorer, not the Taurus X.

God!! When will the ugly end?????? There ain't enough eye beach out there to get that out of my head!

Ford's bastardizing the Explorer name (maybe the Expooer now? It looks like SH*T!) What's next? Bring back the Grenada?

Yeah, really. I would have bought a TX, I would buy a Flex. I would never consider that ugly retarded love child from the two.

Well sounds like the boys at ford have there heads up there........well you get the idea.

That is the test mule guys. It's a Frankenstein body over the Exploder chassis / drivetrain. Google the concept Explorer from 2006 Detroit Auto Show, Smooth the body out some and that's the new Exploder.

As usual concepts are more radical than production but it's a real close match.

Actually, from my understanding the one in that picture was a uni-body FWD.

Before, it was the Freestyle. Then it became the Taurus X. I wonder what they will call it now?

Maybe the "Freetard"? UGLY POS. IF I ever wanted a F'n minivan then I would go BUY a F'n minivan, probbly an import at that, other than a Toy.

Does anyone but Yota still make those? Chrysler I guess. Does Honda still make them?

I suppose we can all blame the new CAFE standards that dictate a fleet average of 35mpg. I guess it could be worse...

why cant cars be cars and trucks be trucks? never ever buying a new car...

Well, getting your ass kicked enough might make you eventually stop fighting. GM and Ford both failed at their attempts to build minivans enough that it's no surprise they don't offer them anymore. Aerostar, Windstar, Lumina, Venture--all sucked.

Chrysler, Toyota, and Honda have successful versions. VW and Kia are also making them. VW has the Routan and Kia's I don't know the name of.

the Econovan wasn't a total failure, and the Windstars are durable in terms of vans. btw, never get a Caravan, the engines die.... and the trannies fail...
