Morgan Shepherd, at age 69, is a NASCAR driver on weekends and a vigilante on weekdays.
On Monday, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Shepherd was waiting in a rental car while his wife was shopping when he saw three men flee the building. Shepherd joined store employees in pursuing men.

Shepherd tackled one of the three and proceeded to sit on him while a Las Vegas police officer raced by and threw Shepherd a pair of handcuffs for the suspect.
As the suspected begged for his freedom, Shepherd told the Los Angeles Times he offered a lesson.
"I told him he shouldn't be stealing stuff," Shepherd said.
"I didn't tell him a 69-year-old man chased him down," Shepherd said in a statement released by Faith Motorsports, his racing team. "He was probably 18 or 19. I told him he shouldn't be stealing stuff. There is just too much of this stuff going on."
All three suspects were apprehended by local law enforcement.
"So many people these days would just sit and watch those guys run away," Shepherd said, according to the release. "People need to get up and help stop this type of stuff."
Shepherd, who drives the No. 89 car for Faith Motorsports, is in Nevada preparing for Saturday's Nationwide race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Through two Nationwide races, Shepherd is 24th in the points standings.
