im thinking of doing some performance mods to my truck, but in no way am i trying to make it a race truck or anything

what would be my best mods that i can do that are not to difficult, and i also dont want to void my warranty, id rather wait until it expires, things like exhaust, performance chip/programmer, intake?

anything would help!

thanks!

supercharger

there is a way of getng that horse power you want is find a supercharger out of a 85-87 ford t bird with the 3.8 and it should fit

gibson has a really nice exhaust. and sct has great programs

so if i find a tbird the supercarger on it will bolt right to my 4.0?????

No. Research my man. I'm pretty sure there is a "I want more power" thread started every day. Search the tech pages and the forums. You'll find your answers.

More power requires $$$$$

Options are:
Regear $$
Forced Induction $$$ and lots of work.
Internal engine mods $$$

Things like Intakes, Exhaust, K&N filters....will do nothing.

there was a bolt on kit from explorer express at one time, it was costly but what supercharger kit isnt. i think if you took any supercharger off of another aplication there would be some sort of fabing required.

this guy is blowing away all the V8s at the local flat track in his V6 Mustang

I'm concidering sending my spare motor to him to build me one of his 4.3 strokers for my Explorer.

But for simple mods I put a K&N FIPK on mine and it woke it right up, High flow muffler will do wonders too and that souldn't effect your warranty.

hes right as far as the exhuast and intakes...i mean done correctly they add a little, but nothing high enough thats worth bragging about at all. you would hardly notice the change, unless the intake you replaced was clogged.

I mean, i put a cone style filter on my ranger...but that was only becuase i love the sound it makes haha
