My Explorer had a badly leaking gas filler neck that was completely rotted out from rust. I found a replacement in very good condition (no apparent damage at all), and had it installed at a reputable local shop (apartment complex frowns on parking lot repairs), but I am still having issues with gas pumps clicking off and not allowing me to fill the tank. I'm gussing my problem is now somewhere other than the filler neck since I do not smell gas around it anymore and I can't see any visible leaks like I used to. Also, the filler neck on this truck connects to the tank with quick disconnects, not hose clamps, so it should have a good seal. Does anyone have any ideas of what to check next? Something has to be leaking somewhere for this to be happening, right? I can fill the truck up, but I have to hold the nozzle of the pump out from the filler a little bit. It is annoying to have to fiddle with it and get it in just the right position to pump gas.
