94 Ranger xlt 4x4 5spd 4.0. Before I put the trans back in, There is a ground strap between the back of the driver's side head. I found a piece of it lying on the trans when it came out and the lug on the head. Where should I screw the other end? to the fire wall? Also. what is the torque for flywheel bolts ? TIA

Torque spec is 59 foot pounds. Looked it up my ownself :D

Grounds go from engine to body. I don't even have that particular ground hooked up on my truck.

Thank you ,sir.On my old BMWs a bad strap doing the same thing causes all sorts of gremlins . Truck did run fine though.

IIRC it attaches to a stud for the wiper motor.

A Ranger is a bit more forgiving than a BMW. There are only two grounds that will really give you trouble on that truck. The one right next to the PCM, and the one running right off the block.

Amen to that, I do all the wrenching on my wife's bimmer and it is not only a pain but torque specs for everything have to be perfect lol
