More Bronco hear say.

Seems you have this all figured out... glad I could help!

If I could get the wife into a Bronco... got any ideas to help me?

Tell her that it has a heated steering wheel and wireless phone charger?

My aunt works at a dealership, so I get all the cool information about all the failures with them, they're not a great engine, and you'd think after 10 years they'd figure out how to build them. They have customer's vehicles waiting in line for months for major repairs compounded now by this scam of a virus stopping everything. Blown turbos, some have had them fail multiple times, blown engines, transmission issues, etc. Many are actually newer trucks with less than 10k miles on them...not a good sign when you have that many issues with those same engines, and now customers stuck without their vehicles for months. Luckily some have been given refunds and moved on, but for those stuck with their vehicles and can't use them, it would really be upsetting I'm sure.

My brother is a Sr master tech at the local dealer. He is so terrified of them he bought a new one 6 years ago and has done nothing to it since. My FIL is a Sr master tech at a different dealer and he wishes he would have gotten the 3.5 instead of a coyote because it would pull his camper better.

Cute and comes in fun colors!

That has kept the lines running at jeep and mustang factories for decades...

Seriously though, Bronco was a lost cause until she latched onto her goofy primer gray...

Her Edge keeps getting stuck in snow and drags in the mud on our road and that probably helped too.

Trying to talk her into a snorkel now and she ain't having it... yet.

Buy the Bronco and a bicycle. Tell her if she doesnt like the Bronco, then she can use the bike :p

If you need any other marital advise, let me know.

I was going to say... Over the last ten years I've heard shockingly little about ecoboost issues.

One has to factor in how many people just get in and drive their vehicles. They don’t do anything to them until they have to because it’s broke or it won’t pass inspection.

Remember that we are generally the exception when it comes to maintaining our vehicles.

I watched that video earlier...

I was a bit disappointed in the Bronco reveal they did. But it's good to see Ford putting some Bronco dollars into the off road race scene.

I was hoping they were going to uncover a 2 door Bronco pickup...

Since the top and doors come off the new Bronco, all the instrument cluster stuff and infotainment stuff is waterproof correct? Often wondered about that like in the Jeep Wrangler as well. Since the Bronco is more geared towards the offroad groups, would the navigation system have a way to incorporate maps of ORV parks, and possibly stuff like forest service roads? Or will those that do that type of driving still need a paper map or an aftermarket mapping system I think Garmin has something and maybe Magellan? But will Ford have something like that incorporated into the in dash navigation system...probably a lot of people would use that feature that venture off the beaten path? Like have it only available in the offroad driving modes or something?

I'd say water resistant. They took efforts to seal it up and even drain. But waterproof is a stretch.

I'm not so up on the techy stuff but it does have Nav with some sort of trail software.

Some have hose out interiors like our Black Diamond. The seats are marine grade vinyl (like boat seats) and it has a rubber floor with drains. I would think some effort has been given to waterproof the dash, they mention waterproof window switches on the console in walkaround videos.

I don't know about the factory nav but ours has like a 6mo subscription to something. Usually they can piggyback off your phone so you can use googlemaps or whatever on the infotainment thing. All of my junk is caveman crude, I haven't really played with anything that modern yet.

Usually on road trips I have my garmin running on the dash as a HUD for speed limits, what is going on around me and if I am close to give me a countdown to my destination. It rarely wants to go a way I want to go. For that I have a spiral bound atlas on the seat with the route I want highlighted.

Thanks, sounds like they must have thought ahead about someone hitting a mud hole with the top/doors off and having all that muck end up in the cabin space of the vehicle and you know darn well it'll end up all over the dash because, well that's where a lot of the electronic stuff is LOL. My luck it would short out everything HAHA!!

I have a Garmin, but its just a street GPS, I know there are GPS devices out there that have back roads like forest service roads and that type of stuff on them, but like you said you can usually piggy back off your phone so probably many people that do that type of travelling probably already have that stuff on their phone, or like myself just use a map from our local forest service office.

The electronics in the new jeeps are not water resistant. I left the top down on a rental and it rained, radio did not work for a couple of days until everything dried out. Also the gauges were all fogged up.

I sure hope they do a better job with the Bronco...

The radio may have been planning to take a couple days off anyway.

You know one of them Jeep things that nobody understands... :icon_confused:
