The Bronco Sport is front wheel drive based correct? So how useful is a rear locker in that scenario? The "Bronco" is rear wheel drive with an optional rear locker, but you have to buy a $50K+ model to get a front locker? At least that's the only way I see the option on the Ford build page. Although in my case a more plain bare bones model would be fine as I really don't go offroad far enough to need a locker, I wish they'd offer a limited slip option in the lower trim levels at least though. Course I guess being the first year for both its kind of a testing grounds for them, and possibly more options available later on I'd hope at least. I do like the pricing on the Bronco much better than the over-hyped Wrangler for sure.
I'm just not so sure with that Ecoboost stuff, and given I have an aunt that works at a dealership they have quite the running tab of Ecoboost issue vehicles sitting around waiting on parts and engines. I wish they'd just offer an N/A engine and skip all that Ecoboost stuff personally...I could care less about fuel economy, if I'm gonna buy a brick to drive down the road, I expect it to get crap for fuel economy LOL...cough...cough my current 88 Bronco 2 and its 19mpg on the highway if I'm lucky....probably slightly less now with the larger heavier 235/75R15's on it instead of the tiny 205/75R15's it had on it...it looks better with the larger tires though and I swear it rides a little better too.
The full size Bronco from what I could find has a tow capacity of 3500lbs regardless if I get the manual or automatic transmission or so it seems on the specs on the website, not too bad I guess for the size of the vehicle, the short wheel base I assume is mostly the reason for what kind of seems to be a low towing number considering it shares some stuff with the Ranger I assume.
Is the Bronco Sport the same size as the Escape, looks like its longer and possibly a bit wider, but on the same chassis though correct?
