will the seats from a pre 2001 explorer fit into a 97 ext ranger? i got the list from the tech library but i thought i saw that explorer seats would fit also. thanks

The seats will work. You will more than likely have to reuse your original seat tracks and bolt them to the ex seats.

be careful that the seat tracks and reclining mechanism aren't integrated into the seat on the explorer. your 97 has detachable seat tracks the explorer may not. In 98 they started integrating tracks and recline in the ranger, IDK about the explorer. My 98 was a headache when it came to finding seats.

I put 2000 ranger seats in my 97...both had removable tracks...which I switched.

When I was at the stealership the parts guy told me the bolt pattern for mine ('94)would accept anything up to an '05. Now that's the parts guy at the stealership here, so maybe some one else can chime in and help out on this one??
Oh, I backtracked a little and found ya'll wass talking about sploder seats, that was Ranger seats for mine. OOOps.

found some nice seats out of a 94 escort very good condition got the pair for $45.00. had to fab new brackets to match up bolt pattern to ranger brackets, but i put them in wensday also got a clutter catcher from wal mart for a middle console looks real nice with good storage. drove to work thursday and felt great. take any advice on what seats bolt right on with a grain of salt check them first. but all in all i got pretty good advice here so thanks. now one more thing anyone got good advice about shocks? just looking for mostly road driving maybe a little desert use. appreciate any suggestions
