I have been reading about this chemical. It is supposed to help out with blowby(website) problems by help sealing the rings.

Quote "The detergents and Molybdenum Disulfide work together to clean the soot and deposits off of your rings allowing them to better seal the combustion chamber." unquote.

Where could I find such an animal, and how do I use it?

Thanks

A common brand is Moly-Slip available at many auto parts places N America wide. Not quite as popular as it used to be , would not hurt to read a few sites info Google brings you on the topic.

My Dad used to swear by Moly-Slip as one of the best additives you could use in a motor...I used it in my Tempo that had nearly 400,000 Km on it without missing a beat (except a slight incidence with a moron mechanic)...

Haven't seen it on shelves much lately but when I get my engine replaced that is one of the first things I will add to the oil...and hopefully one of the last things I have to add...

I don't see it as helping blow-by but would be interested to know if you get any results...keep us posted...:icon_thumby:

Slick 50 and Duralube have some moly in them if your looking for an available big box part store additive. I have a 12 oz bottle of pure powdered moly (for dry assembly of engines and such) so I just use a paint stirrer to incorporate about a teaspoons worth to a quart of oil for every car I treat. Its great to hear the engine quiet down on the next restart.
