Have you guys ever wondered what the Bronco II would look like if they still made them in the late 90s and 2000s? I have seen pictures of Bronco II frames with late model Ranger cabs, but if someone finished it off it would be awesome.

I think it wouldn't look much different than a Reg Cab Ranger with a topper, just a bit shorter.

they did (and still do), its called an explorer

Well, that's not exactly what I meant.. But wasn't that a selling point for the Bronco IIs, as they were more "Ranger" as far as a beefier frame, suspension, and 4WD capability? Even a modern 2 door Explorer sport is all right I suppose.

It would be interesting to see a 1998-2000 Ranger front end swapped on a 2 door Explorer.

The way I understand it is that the Explorer is a larger SUV than the BII and that the fact that the BII is based directly off the Ranger and is similarly sized to the Ranger. From what I understand, the Explorer is a slightly larger bodied vehicle but is still based on the RBV platform albeit some slight deviations.

Splitting hairs.

Long story short, the 1st generation Explorer Sport is everything the BII wanted to be and more. D35, M5OD, 31 spline 8.8... all from the factory. Width of the axles are same as the front of a Ranger (rear is actually narrower on a Ranger)

I consider my 1991 2-door Navajo with an M5OD to be a beefed up Bronco II, and treat it as such. I beat the tar outta it!
