Almost done, just have to get the rack and gear put on.

Done... Almost.

Lano Pover - Land Rover

Gamel Trophy - Camel Trophy

Even tweaked the Shell logo

Awesome build, a good challenge. Not a toy, too many small details.

Keeping the oil in might be an issue first. Either way that's a heck of a design flaw.

Is that a Lego set?

Basically but not really.

Lego will never make a kit centered on a race that hasn't happened for 20 years whose primary sponsor was a cigarette company...

Better get a cover on that diff to keep the dirt out.

Open diffs for the win! Just garden hose the mud, sticks and squirrels out when you get home!

Actually the diffs are oddly satisfying to play with...

This is my second off brand kit, pretty good bang for buck so far. Not as easy or nice as Lego but the challenge adds to the fun.

I have my sights on a g wagon next...

So, kinda been meaning to post here… I had ended up in a Hobby Lobby with the now ex gf a good while back while we were still together and bought a Baja (early) Bronco and a Warthog A-10 kit. They were still in the bag and on the top shelf of a set of shelves in her bedroom right across from the bathroom that caught fire not so long ago. I retrieved them, but the plastic on the boxes and the bag melted. Basically shrink wrapped the boxes together. I’m hoping the actual kits are still ok, but I haven’t been brave enough to cut it open yet.

If they got warped... build them as wrecks.

I used to do both plastic and wood models. The wood models being of the flying kind. Free flight, control line and radio control. The RC being planes and helicopters. Haven't done so in 10 years or so. Just don't have enough free time anymore. I do have an old classic Don Garlits front engine rail kit sitting on my dining room table. Maybe one day I'll put it together.

Big daddy Don garlits has held my local 8th mile track record since like 1968 or something nuts.

Kinda missing camping season...
