It's possible, but not easy.
Compared to the small block the Tritons and inTechs (the modular blocks, Tritons are 2 and 3 valves, inTechs are DOHC 4 valve) are huge.
One guy here got a Superchaged 5.4 in his Ranger though, and I have seen a few 5.4 BIIs as well.
