Mitsubishi 4WD truck...what to do with it?

As it says in my small profile thing, the 88 Ranger i've picked up does double duty as both and offroad toy/paintball tank.

What it replaced was another compact truck, though slightly more uncommon: a 1990 Mitsubishi 4WD pickup. Up until last year i had never even seen one, so you can imagine how confused i was.

Thing is, though it won't stop properly (the rear brake hard line is rotted and the fittings are all seized), it still runs....sort of (it too has carburetor syndrome :D), and it still drives somewhat ok. Body is rough but not rusty, and the frame still seems solid.

Any suggestions/fiendish ideas for it? :icon_thumby:

Could do that, but then it would mean the money we spent on the 88 was a waste .

If parts were easier to get ahold of (or even find :D), i could have this thing working again. The Ranger has a fighting chance to survive, but the Mitsubishi needs some serious outside the box thinking to make right...and while i do think outside the box, not even i would know where to start with this thing:not_i:

It seems a shame to send something that still partially works to the scrapyard :icon_welder:, at least to me (i admit i'm a closet conservationist :icon_rofl:).

Now that still may happen of course, since you can't save everything, but i would like some ideas before i make that call :icon_thumby:

If you can, fix it. I would. Solid axle and some 35 in tires. I have never seen one of those trucks done like that. Or you could just repair it so that it is driveable. Your decision. :)

Sell it to me for a set of used tires, and I will put it on a built 4x4 frame and running gear.

they are great offroad. 3.0 v6? 1990 were fuel injected on v6's i don't know about 4's.

its the same thing as a dodge power ram 50. and similar to a dodge raider/mitsubishi monetero

Hmm, i never thought to look for those....

The V6 was FI, and it was a 3.0 i think. And if i remember correctly, i think it's already a solid axle front end....have to look the next time i out that way.

I was just looking for some ideas on what to do with it; i was against tossing something away that still has some life in it.

And if anyone was serious about wanting it, i'd be willing to entertain that idea :icon_thumby:
