"Citizens,
I feel it is important to inform you of a law that will be effective soon. Effective July 1, 2013, the State of Mississippi will become an open-carry state. You will be able to carry a firearm openly without a permit of any kind. However, to carry a firearm concealed you will still have to have the concealed-carry permit issued by the state. I'm sure there will be many questions and we will do our best to find out the answers. Again, the new law is not effective until July 1st.

personally, I'll keep my permit and keep it concealed. That's just my beliefs...however, it'll be nice to not have to worry about it when I'm coming out of the woods or around the farm and don't have to switch holsters or whatever when going in somewhere.
