I know i pry spelled it wrong.

86 Bronco II 2.9

I was poking around underneath it and noticed that someone eliminated the black fuel resivior that bolts to the frame and replaced it with an inline fuel filter..

Im having cold start issues. It runs amazing once it runs for 30 seconds or so...but after its sat it cranks forever. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 of these long cranking sessions to get it to fire, then itll idle fine but as soon as you give it throttle it stalls. Cycling the key and priming the pump dont seem to help.

I know that resivior holds fuel so the hi-po pump dont get ahead of the intank pump....so i would think its feasable this is the issue?

Have you checked fuel pressure before starting, or numerous key ons before cranking? Sounds like it needs to build pressure before it wants to start. The high pressure pump should be full, full enough to start anyway.

Yeah i checked it a few weeks ago when i changed the FPR it was right around 40psi and didnt drop off.

When it doea start (cold) it usually does so within 3 or 4 cranks.

So i just went and checked fuel pressure again, it pops up to 40 initially but i let it sit for about an hour and in that time it dropped about 10lbs. So im sure overnight its dropping to 0.

I just changed the FPR...which is where the check valve is. The injectors dont stick as i checked that before i even did the FPR.

It take 2 or 3 extended cranking sessions (regardless of pump priming) before it putters, then the next time it fires up and idles normally but wants to stall with any throttle. Acts just like a carb with a messed up choke.

Runs excellent when warm.

Anyone got any more ideas? CTS is new. No codes.
