Doing things wrong, until I get it right.
I just saw a new commercial for the F150. The song is The William Tell song for The Lone Ranger show. Now i can't be the only one to see the missed opportunity here. If Ford is going to go through the trouble to get permission to use THAT song, and also having a new product to market, they should have used it for a Ranger commercial. Are the marketing crew at Ford so young that they don't get the reference of that song with The Lone Ranger and also having a product called "RANGER" that these two go together is a "no-brainer". So why would they do that? It really makes me wonder about the decision making going on there.

You're assuming that the people making the decisions are actually capable of thought.

We need a new emoticon!

The William Tell Overture was written in 1829 so no copyrights but they would need to pay the musicians who performed it

Its 12min long but the part most people know is the finale that starts about 9min in, the part used in the Lone Ranger
But if you listen to the whole thing you will hear many other parts that were used in cartoons and some movies

For many years the definition of a music intellectual is someone who can hear the William Tell Overture Finale and NOT think of the Lone Ranger, lol

I think Ford has missed more than one opportunity over the years.... Seams like they are stuck in the mud when it comes to "good ideas". Haven't seen anything worthy of anything since the Raptor came out..... Other than the mustang Ford hasn't really done anything to improve anything or design anything..... I like Ford but damn.... hire some new designers or a new team that will actually deliver a decent product. Copying GM isn't gonna cut it either..... Damn copycats....

They are in the mindset of what sells to the most people at the least amount of cost. On paper, it's a good business model but it also prevents them from making or taking advantage of opportunities. A lot of companies are very risk adverse anymore.

That is just dealers screwing around, nothing from GM/Ford.

Since that style GM looks like a bloated '81 it wears the two tone a lot better than the Ford.

A buddy has a 2tone red/white f250, and i must say it pulls the look off better than the blue 150, imo

Either way.... Ford still sucks compared to GM..... Ford has like what the mustang and the fusion while chevy/gm have the spark, corvette, camaro, Malibu, sonic and the bolt..... Not like they are ALL great cars but there are at least more options for the everyday person. I know SUV's are the latest craze but come'on ford.... Get your head out of your ass and design some shit. I don't see why they don't build low cost basic trucks like they used to.... The ol' K.I.S.S. method is hard to beat and would be cheap too.... Instead, lets design 2 cars that are complete opposites and put way too much crap inside that no one wants. Way to go Ford...….

Your argument was made null and void when you listed the Spark as something GM should be proud of.
And although I don't want to rehash this stuff again, they don't sell cheap stuff becasue they don't make any profit on it.

I buy Ford Trucks and GM cars so have no issues :)

GM has always been 1 step ahead of Ford when it comes to cars
And Ford is always 1 step ahead of GM when it comes to trucks

In the very near future neither will make cars aside from the mustang/GT and Camaro/Corvette... so big deal.

I have never had GM cars on a very high pedestal.
