i have an 2007 and it seems to miss fire only at idle what do yall think it could be from? im thinking new plugs and wires the truck only has 35,000miles on it about to turn 36 any help would be great

Have you tried pulling the codes to see if anything comes up thats not throwing a CEL?

unless you are the only person to have touched it, I would check that each lead is properly seated.

maybe low level vacuum leak, not enough to trip the CEL. Have you checked PCV and its hose, sometimes they crack at base?

they are all good i mean its a brand new truck should i check anyway?

"its a brand new truck" thats true, how long has it missed? Maybe a bad tank of gas?

one thing i found is that the middle plug wire has a red boot on both sides of the motor is this normal or is this where someone went in an replaced them? the other ones are grey but only two are red and the are both the middle plug on both sides of the motor

Hi,

Don't sound quite right to me, with the different color plug wires. Hunting down a miss can be quite frustrating. Just because the trucks is not that old, does not mean plugs, wires, and ect is OK. I learned that lesson the expensive way! You'll have to go process of elimination (process of spending money):D.

Possibly got some bad fuel? If after a new refill, the problem stays the same or worsens, I would do the following:

Have it scanned again for codes

Look for a vaccum leak (they can be hard to find, but will cause big headaches)

Plugs and wires

I'm thinking vaccum problem or plug related.

Good luck!

welp i guess its time to pull out the starter fluid and check for vaccum leaks thanks guys and yea the warranty runs out in about 100 miles or so

well if i cant find it right now its not missing at all it seems to only be doing it when its in drive and warm like about after 10 mins of driving or so im thinking plugs myslef i checked for vaccum leaks and didnt find anything ill go back in a little bit and check again
