Mis-matching tires

thats speaking from experience over thousands of miles driven with various systems in all sorts of horrid conditions.

under 35 inch....within a 1/2 inch over 35 within an inch

4x4 system is the real factor...if you have a spool or locker it will list or jerk noticeably outside of that from side to side if say you have an undersize spare on... front to rear you will notice bind in 4x4 on dryish pavement. with open diffs and awd you wont notice much.

ok, I will keep within a half inch as they would be 29's (235/75-15)

It is bone stock for a 1990 Ranger. So I'm gonna say no spool or locker but honestly would not know if it has open diffs or not as diffs/4x4 systems are one area I know next to nothing about...

Would that bind occour even if I stay under half-inch or is that just if I go over a half-inch difference?

and is that half inch a half-inch over the full diameter of the tire or just on one side (radius)

Thank you for helping me out here

Cheers
Dave

full. mark the tires and roll them on the ground and measure the distance mark to mark.

i recently spun over 1/4 inch off of one of my iroks that was under water grinding on a concrete slab and broken blocks...dude i was trying to help was just watching waiting for it to explode...friggen drunken retards could have said something when i asked....the water kept the smoke down but the rubber smell was present over the diesel cloud :annoyed:.. finally i got out and the water was nearly boiling:icon_surprised:...figured it was just freewheelin in the mud:dunno: i actually wanted to beat the fawk out of the guy for letting that happen after i found out they put the slabs and blocks in trying to get out previously...i would have pulled cable and winched instantly instead of horsing around. beware of asshats i guess.

i mention this because on my 42's there is now a variance of over an 1 inch biggest to smallest tire. locked on dry pavement the bind makes itself known about every half mile the distance i drove like that between clare and gladwin.

in your case i cant see there being a noticeable issue at all.
