Look at you you fancy bastard! lol. PERFECT pics. I should have took some like that.

Big mirrors FTW!!!! :D Got em on my 06 Mazda. Love the looks and the view around back. This was always one thing that I thought looked "cheap" on the Rangers/B-series, I was happy to find mine with the cooler looking mirror.

R The Mazda's Mirror the same as the Ranger 06 Mirrors ?

If not got a pic...

Thanks

They look it, thanks for the pics.

I will measure my '03 mirror today and make my decision on which ones but I am leaning toward the '06 on looks only.

Thanks to all for the input.

it also reaches farther out because of the non-rounded shape of them as well. overall width is about the same...but the corners add more usable width. hell...mine have little blind spot mirrors and i still say they are far superior compared to the 05 and older style.

That reminds me I wanted to ask you something....
Do you have the genuine Ford mirrors? I have the Kool-Vue, and that passenger side glass has a lot wider view than the drivers side. You know, the "objects are closer than they appear" deal. It's fine with me, I love 'em, just wondered if the factory mirrors were the same in that regard.

My '03s are 7.5 x 5.5 inches, that is more viewing area than the '06 style.
I do like the square designs of the '06 style but I will have to check out pricing on pwrd OEM mirrors before finally deciding.

I have found some convex mirrors that can be mounted on the bottom of the OEM units, they are rounded on the bottom and flat on the top for mounting; they will let me see not only wider but lower and closer to the vehicle.

I always take so long to decide, time will only tell.

The 06+ style has more total viewing area. Your height measurement is way off. The old style has just over half an inch more width, but a full inch LESS height than the new style. Your mirrors are 4 3/4" high.

Wannabe and I posted all those pics so you could see the difference. It's pretty clear.

I have Ford genuine mirrors. Wouldn't have it any other way IMO. Still got the boxes if ya'll want part numbers.

I got 'em in July last year for the Ford dealer hook up price of $75 for the two. Manual, no power, no cap...plain janes.

Don't think there's any of that jibberish in which you speak of. Tell ya what...tomorrow i'll take a tape to my mirrors and find out.

$75 is a great deal. And that makes the link I posted a great deal, too.
What jibberish are you referring to? What are you going to measure? I measured everything already....

I don't know if you checked out the link I posted earlier in this thread, but I don't know if you're going to find a better price than $110 for power and 2 sets of caps.....
I bet a Ford dealer would want $300.

OK on the price, I think I found a set of the Cool-Vue's for $94, p/n: MSET-FD102E, at:

http://shop.carbodyparts.net/search...07&part_type=mirrors_components&part_subtype=

I will probably start with these, then look into replacement glass with heat and LED directionals. Muth makes the replacement glass but it is pricey.

How's the quality ?
How's the fit ?
Did you paint them ?

On the measurements yup I was off you must be measuring the aftrmkt units because mine are bigger than what you say, mine measure 7.125"W x 5.062"H glass area.
You measurements of the '06 mirror = 6 7/8"W x 5 3/4H
In your pic of the two mirrors (nice one) you can see the length difference but they are more square; Ford did this for a reason.

Thanks for all of the info and the pictures, this should provide some good answers for people thinking about the swap.
I need to get an '06 Mirror and see for myself, need to look through one and the difference and if they take away the earlier mirror down falls.

Thanks
