It's ALL about maintenance and condition to me.
I have an 03' with a tic over 100K that I paid 7,400 for. It was in good shape. Needed shocks, and a lower rad hose when I bought it. Gave it a tune up, wheel bearing and that's it so far. Great condition.
Had an 03' come into the shop this week that was a dead ringer for my truck, except it had a push bar on the front. It had 71K on it's odom. and everything was just about shot. It needed about 3K in repair and maintenance. Ball joints, wheel bearing, TRE's, brakes, etc, etc, I wouldn't have given 5K for it.
My advice....it's worth it to take a vehicle to a trusted shop and have it inspected before being purchased. It's worth it when you lay down that kind of scratch.
