Mike's '93 4x4

So I heard the Ranger is back on the road:D

Looks like a couple water pump bolts spun themselves loose.

Thanks for the nomination CHKNFKR!

So far everything is holding together great on the Ranger:yahoo:

Going for the cosmetics now, sometime this week (hopefully) I'll be getting my truck decalled up a bit. Not that it doesn't look like a young kids truck already:D

Bought time! Looks good Boggin:icon_thumby:

thanks bud. the wheels are on 1.5" spacers/bolt pattern adapters that i had come for the fx4 b2, but i figured id try em out on the ranger till i get the b2 lifted lol lol

Those rims must be pretty heavy on the backspacing then, my truck looks like that sans spacers. Of course it might be that the Eagle Alloys he bought are low backspacing because I think the stance it nailed on my truck.

Latest update, the F-150 intake idea has gone out the window. The plenum is too tall height wise to fit under my hood. But another viable and equally greatly priced alternative came up. One of the guys at work bought a 2007 FX4 LII that had a K&N intake on it. He's converting it back to stock and offered to give me the intake. I know the general consensus about K&N intakes on here but if I make sure to oil it right it should be a non-issue. Plus any intake is better than the broken airbox I have now.

Sweet! Free always equals awesome. Good score, buddy!

Well I think my alternator shit the bed tonight. I was cruising home from a buddies house after helping Matt put a body lift on his F-150. While driving I noticed my dash lights were a little dim. I went to turn the dimmer up and noticed it was fully cranked. Then as I'm pulling my hand off the switch, 'blink' on comes my charge light. Sure enough I look at my battery gauge and see I'm down into 10 volts and falling fast. Luckily by this point I figured I had enough juice left to make the sprint to the dealership. Made it just fine, should have enough power on tap to start it up tomorrow so i can take a look at it on my lunch. I took a look at the belt and I know it's brand new so it isn't glazed in the slightest. It appeared to be tight and tracking properly but I'll check & report on it tomorrow.

Tested the alternator with the snap-on tool today at work. It was pooched. Picked up a new one at NAPA and an idler puller while I was at it. I ordered up a tensioner from work today s that should be in tomorrow so I can slap it on after work. The new alternator and pulley seem to have quieted down some of the squealing on idle. Not a bad turnaround time:D

does then tensioner pulley go squeek----squeek----squeek----squeek---when the engine is first started......then the squeek goes away after a few minutes of driving

if so, then I can add a new pulley to the list:

new alt................................check

new alt. fuse (+ a spare)........check

new battry...........................check

new idler tension pulley..........tomorrer

sounds like you're dealling with the usual little problems on a fresh truck, mike.
