Mike's '93 4x4

Well after much humming and hawing I have made my choice of tires. I am going with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's in 31x10.50-15. Even thought that is technically the same size that is on it now I measured the tires on my dad's Cherokee and they are a solid inch taller. Of course they still will look small once I put on the Belltechs and the washers.

lookin good-keep it up.and don't let work get in the way, that's what's happening to me.

Oooooh-eeee-oooooh! Lookin' reaaaaalllll purdy-like. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealllllll purdy... :D

31 x 10.5 x by 15 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's bigger than my rear fender!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30" long by 11" deep by 10" high !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More pics!

I got all the steering linkages up front replaced today. Ben came over to give me a hand, we're doing the washer lift tomorrow. Also it was decided I am going to mount a shovel and high lift jack to the supports of my hoop.

First off, WTF is this for? How strong is it, can it be a jacking point?

The old TRE.

At some point every one of those tools was used.

After much PITA we got the old steering linkage off.

Me holding the old stuff before I dumped it, had to take of the TREs to get the adjusters.

Got it mocked in place to mount it to the pitman arm.

That "thing" in the first picture is just a crossmember with a weird shape to it. If you look closely, the shape has a purpose. Look where the rad drain petcock is... then look where the crossmember is. Then look at the shape of the crossmember...:icon_idea:
It's a crossmember that doubles as a coolant channel when draining your rad, so it all comes down in one area rather that spilling EVERYWHERE! Way to go Ford! :yahoo:

Oh yeah, by the way.... YEAH PRINCESS AUTO! My girlfriend got a job at the one here. Discounts!

if you look even closer you will notice that right behind the deep part of that crossmember is the steering box and pitman arm.that is what it is there to protect.:icon_thumby:

Mike, grease your zerks. With some zerk grease.

By the way, what made you come up with the name "Jammer" anyway?

Well babytruck said it at one point as a SFW version of a common swear and I just liked it it.

Now I have a question for all y'all. I am going to install the washers today and am worried about alignment. How much can I lift this thing before it is unalign abl. I am going to get adjustable camber bushing from NAPA, but don't know how much positive camber you cant take out of this truck.

I went up 2" on my 2WD via F-150 spacers and made it align-able, FWIW.
