Creeper 4sp
4.10s, 9in/D44
33in BFG all terrians
3 inch suspension lift

The body is about shot, but it runs like a champ.

He wants 950 bucks, what do you think?

Dustin

$950 sounds a little steep to me, but then again I haven't seen it either. I have never seen a 300-6 that didn't run like a champ. If you think it is worth it then get it. I have a buddies kid running a 85 F150 with the 6 and a junk body up at Cliffs Insane Terrain.

people here like to crap all over the 300 in favor of the 4.0, but the 300 is a stout engine.

id take a 300 over a 4.0 any day of the week for brute grunt power

long live the 300:headbang:

Sounds like something you would like Dustin. Try to talk the seller down to $800.

The 4.0 and the 300 arent anywhere even close to the same category. A strait 6 verses V6? Ill take the torquey numbers the strait six is throwin. And by the way, that sounds like a good deal. My friend shawn just bought a 85 F-150 with the 305 and 2WD for a grand, so for 5 bucks less, your getting 4WD, lift, and 33s. Sounds great.

a little big for trail riding. There is a 2wd F100 around here with a flawless frame you could pick up for $500 and drop that 300 and 4x4 gear into

They weren't saying the straight six is a BAD engine. Most people say that it is not worth the time and effort, or great amounts of vehicle modification to drop into a Ranger.

Yes the 300 is a good engine...left in a F-150. It's reliable, simple, and produces what torque it has down low. But it lacks aftermarket and isn't easily modified for MORE power. Most people putting a different engine in a Ranger want MORE power. So....a V8 is a better choice.

Also, if someone were to go through the motions of putting a straight six in, why not a diesel?

As for the truck? I'd talk them down a bit and buy it!

Someone is sadly mistaken! Reread what you just read. I didn't read anything to it being crapped on?

Didn't someone on one of the previous TRS forums put a 300 in a Ranger? I can't remember for sure, it's been years. IIRC it took a lot of work because of the length of the 300.
