Getting ready for this hurricane to hit us
If you're in the path of confusion or cone of destruction get ready. They say it's gonna be a bad one.

Stay safe over there. I hope it dies down before it hits. We are getting 25 mph winds over here now.

Same to you. It's supposed to hit between here (Tallahassee) and Panama City Wednesday morning. But who knows where it will really hit. Anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico is at risk.

Just saw it is gonna hit as cat 4 145mph winds. Don't take anything for granted man. I went through katrina and this storm looks as bad if not worse.

Have you made it through the storm ?

Wondering the same.

One of my high school classmates posted on Facebook that they are being told not to leave the shelters yet until some damage has been cleaned up.

Looks like a huge mess, lots of trees (and I assume power lines) are down. If it isn't flooded and if you have a vehicle that survived... you are not going anywhere anyway.

Yep, made landfall just a hair under a cat 5. Didn't drop down to a tropical storm until it was half way through GA. I'm in the central GA area and I was basically on north edge of eye as it passed by, was still a Cat 1 then.

Lots of wind and rain, no real damage to my property, haven't really checked out the neighborhood. Power was knocked out at about 10pm, came back around 2:30pm today. Few dead pines blown over on the back side of the storm, unfortunately they all missed the Ranger.

Power company is on the ball here, and I greatly appreciate it. I could have slept thought the storm, but don't sleep for crap with out AC or a fan.

Hopefully he made it through fine. Sounds like it might be a while yet before they get power back on down there, so may be a while before we get an update.

We went right at 3 weeks without power after Katrina. My brother was stationed at NAS in Pensacola at the time. His CO sent him in his jeep with 30 gallons of gas, mre's, water, and other military items for aid to help out. God were we thankful for that.

That would suck, good to have people like your brother that are able to help out like that.

If power was going to be out for more than a day, I'd probably be heading to crash at my parents or borrow their camper until power came back. I probably need to look into getting a generator and getting the house wired with a disconnect for it.

Unfortunately most of my family lives down in South Ms and the others live in Louisiana. We stayed to ride it out. The day after the storm I started clearing and cleaning up debris so we could get out. Later that week I was in a barely functional hospital getting my baseball-sized elbow drained from a brown recluse bite.

Well Michael is gone. 3 days without power. lots of trees down little damage. I was lucky. My home town Marianna took a beating and Mexico Beach is GONE. Panama City took a lick too, but if you've been watching the news you probably have seen more than me. Friend and Family are all safe and taken care of.

Glad to hear it. I hope recovery goes well for you. I have family in Panama City. Their home is mostly intact. But no utilities.

This message composed solely of recycled electrons. Go green!

Glad to hear you are okay. Mexico City is completely wiped. My room feel really bad for those people. I know that devastation first-hand.

thanks for the concern and well wishes. Long road to recovery.
