Picked this little jewel up half built and begging for a rebuild. Well, after about a month of building this is where I'm at now:

1994 extended cab ford ranger
Fender flares
Cowl hood
Boxed frame
Custom chucks trucks roll cage
2 racing seats, full 5 point harness'

Motor/cooling:
Ford 429 bored .40 over to 466 c.i:D
Dove C heads
Eddlebrock intake
decent Comp Cam hydraulic cam
A touch over 500 horse power, still on pump gas
Radiator out of a lincoln, mounted in the bed
Huge tranny cooler mounted in the bed, ac core from the same lincoln
aluminum 30 gallon fuel tank

Trans/ tcase:
Fresh rebuilt C6 trans
B&M ratchet shifter
mated to a stock t-case out of a 77 f100, locked in 4 low
mated to another t-case, divorced np205 I'm pretty sure, locked in low with 2wd/4wd disconnect

Axles/suspension:
2 1/2 ton rockwells, toploaders:D
Front pinion break
Full hydraulic steering
Welded rear end
Leaf springs, shocks and traction bars for now
Cut 55 inch tall tractor tires:D
Custom welded rims

Very close to being done, should be ready to fire up and crank by the weekend if I get some headers. All that's left is:
1 hose clamp for the fuel system that I can't seem to find anywhere:annoyed:
Front shocks
Rear axle shackle for a tow rope, planing on running 2 ropes from the axle and bumper that come together at 1 point to pull from
Headers; fenders or hoods, trying to decide on where to go or to just make my own:dunno:
Fixing the front fiberglass support that holds on the grill, it got crushed stuffing the motor, trans, and first tcase in all at once.
Cutting the hood if I go up with headers

Just a bunch of small stuff at this point, getting closer everyday. When it's done it'll be another big bad mudder in Florida, although it is going to be one of the lighter ones out there with enough horsepower to have some giddy up. And now what y'all came for, the pics:

That thing is huge! 2003 are you sure about that lol? Got any pics of the engine installed? And why would you wanna be pulled out using the axle? Sorry for all the questions haha.

front blocks.....thats a big no no. Also that cowl hood is god awful, not really my cup of tea. But other than some small things it looks good

Haha, thanks man. Not 100% sure if it's an 03, that's what the PO told me although he's the second owner, and a chevy guy to boot.

I'll have some pictures of the motor in and the underbelly tomorrow including the motor mounts, tranny and tcases. Bad thing is I want to change the oil and there's zero clearance between the chassis and filter.

The reasoning behind using the axle is that when something stuck in the mud, the chief thing being stuck in the mud is the axle it self. So, pulling from the axle helps reduce stress on the suspension by pulling out whats stuck the most. It's good in theory till you reckon the other axle just as buried, so pulling from just the axle the energy to unstick the front has to travel through the rear suspention, the frame, then the front suspension. So, with those 2 things in mind I think the 2 ropes, 1 to the frame, 1 to the axle, together should work best. It's really not an issue with my truck, most of the trucks thinking up and using set ups like this are bigger and tend to get stuck way worse. So, really the main reason for it on my truck is to reduce stress on parts when pulling myself out but I could get away with 1 or the other. Heres a basic sketch of what I'm talking about with myself on the right, stuck. (credit to IRON MAN on tgw):

Yep and yep, both were on it when I got it. The cowls growing on me to be honest but the blocks are going to be swapped for coils, shocks and 4 linked eventually. It's my first big truck so it's a learn as I go thing, just testing the waters and getting used to working on things like this. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Finally got it done. Took it out to hog waller, played twice then buried it hard and managed to break a rubber motor mount. Bleh, putting new mounts in, tighter chains, and a plate in the front. But, the folks at hogwaller did get a few shots of me:

Id say that's a '93, not an '03....just looking at the front grill and all.

Oh, and I would have gone Outboard on the spirngs for more stability.

You're right, finally found a sticker inside the door that said it was a 94 the other day just forgot to update it on here.

The best monster ever!!!!!!
very nice!!!
