My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Who would be interested in a TRS Meet & Greet or even possible camp out on May 18? Location would be Max Patch mountain on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. Max Patch can be accessed by paved and/or smooth gravel roads. So it should be available for any RBV, including RWD models. There are more interesting roads for those looking for more adventure. This event can be anything from a simple pop-in meet &greet to a weekend camping trip. You do what you feel like. I’m trying to gauge interest so as can flesh out plans. I’m willing to provide hot dogs and non-alcoholic drinks Saturday afternoon.

For my part, I will probable travel Hurricane creek road from I-40(westbound only) to Max Patch Rd. Hurricane creek requires 4x4 and high clearance. Winch recommended due to one heavily rutted muddy section. Pinstriping likely. If there is interest, I can post a time for several of us to meet at the entrance to Hurricane Creek and travel it together, either Friday evening or Saturday morning, depending on how this works out. I have a video of hurricane Creek on my YouTube channel. I’ll post the link later.

I would love to, but that is the day after I leave for Iowa, to work the summer at a camp there.

If i weren't overextended financially right now trying to get that engine ready, I'd be there.

At this point, there isn't much interest. We'll try again, soon.

So, for those who were kind of interested, what is the issue?

Date?
Location?
Not enough notice in advance?
Wrong kind of venue? (Don't like scenic mountaintop views?)
Other?

I'm just curious. I hear people say they can't go to the fall roundup because it's too far. Some people say they would do something more local. So, how local is "local"? How much "planning ahead time" do you need, even for a quick day trip? As you see, I'm willing to organize something. What would make it more enticing?

My problem is entirely timing. I'm working on the engine right now and down to one income.
