mechanical oil gauge

I feel pretty dumb.. but i cant figure out where to connect the tube to????

The oil sending unit is located on the front drivers side of the engine. If you have the orginal electrical sending unit, it will have a wire connected to it. You have to connect the tube there.

I am getting ready to do the same thing and am thinking of putting a tee in line with the unit, so I can leave the electrical sending unit in place while haveing the mechanical gauge also.

You can tee a pressure gauge just fine.

It doesn't work so well for temperature.

That looks like the Knock/Ping sensor.
The oil pressure sensor on a 2.9L is located at the drivers side front of the engine behind the power steering pump.

also, its snuggled nicely right next to the motor mount bracket.

Nope, that's not it.

The piece your looking for is on the front driverside of the motor. It has a stop sign shaped adapter that sticks out from the block (towards the back of the front tire) and then has a fitting attached to it at a 45 degree angle. From there it will have a single wire on it.

Anything with more than one wire is a computer related sensor. Both the temp guage and the oil guage sending unit both use one wire setups.

It's down below the power steering pump.

Thank u guys so much found the lil bastard lol... hooked everything up and i get 50psi when i start, 35-45 idle and 50-60 driving i think
