Hello Everybody,
i have a simple question about fuel delivery on my small block Chevy in my ford ranger, Basically i have removed the high pressure fuel pump and replaced it with a mechanical fuel pump. The fuel pressure is regulated before it gets to the mechanical fuel pump but i was wondering if all of this was necessary and if i could actually get rid of the mechanical fuel pump? i feel like i have too much fuel line running around.

You could just run a fuel line from the tank to the mechanical and be good or just run the electric but that just depends on what the engines needs are and whatnot. You can run either.

Currently I am running my 2.8 with the factory mechanical off the return line (had a 2.3 FI in it at one time) but was going to use the factory electric until but at the time of going to use it, it decided to not want to work.

You could have kept your stock fuel pump and lines, and just ran a by-pass style pressure regulator, it would have brought your pressure down to 6-10 depending on what your running, and plumbed the bypass outlet to your stock return line
