hi eveyone i have a mazda B2500 with 170,000 miles its been a great truck but its in great shape but starting to show its age do not want to depart with it need to start rebuilding.having problems with automatic trasmission runs good but once i stop somewhere it will not take off unless i put it in a lower gear and then i can shift up and sometimes if i dont take my foot off gas pedal it will shift hard i consider myself a average mechanic but never done a transmission can anybody help.

YOu would probably be better off getting a rebuilt or getting your tranny professionally rebuilt. My dad is a pretty good mechanic and he said when he did the auto for our diesel truck it was a nightmare (and the tranny he did was supposed to be one of the simpler ones.
