ive replaced the alternator, checked mega fuse, dont know what else to do

Test the battery, check cables at both ends for corrosion. Most people only check the battery end of the cables, but I have seen the other ends get so bad that the battery would not charge.

ive done that, and ive replaced the battery. still no luck

did you replace both cables too, from block to battery and battery to starter?
have you had the starter tested?

yes. and no i havent. but as long as the battery is hot the truck will start and run

:huh:Is it the correct sized battery? does the battery have water in it? it should. This is a real head scratchero_O

yes its the right size. I had my dad check the water in it. its got water. ive been stumped for awhile

Did you buy a reman alternator from a autozone, advanced, or similar discount chain store? If so... Mystery solved.

yes. but when i put the alternator on my dads ranger, it charges his truck. so im still stumped

So I am stumped
I would go get a brand new alternator and try that if it works take the other one back, if not take the more expensive one back and try something else. If you have a good battery, good alternator, and good cables, and everything is hooked up like it is supposed to be, and it still wont charge, you have a "ghost in the machine"(anime) type situation

my truck has over 300,000 miles on it and it just started recently

its been my dads daily driver for over 5 years and mine for 2. i just need it running again.

ive put a brand new one and a reman on and it still does the same thing

how would i deal with a "ghost in the machine"
