The 4x4 on my 99 mazda b4000 dosnt work. all the front end drive shafts and axels spin when i have it in 4x4 high or low and the tc makes the knocking sounds like its engaging. but there is no action at the front wheels

if i read that right, your hubs have quit working(engaging) clean up some of the electrical connections and you may be able to get it working again, or fix it for good and switch to manual hubs

is your shift linkage correctly adjusted?

im new at this, i wouldnt know where to begin with the shift linkinage correction.

it may not be that but i know that the T-case shouldn't be knocking so there is an issue there.

please read the thread "troubleshooting quick links" look under transfer case and when you find the one that best describes how yours is going we can help you a bit easier.

its not knocking, but making a quick sound right after i switch the knob from 2wd to 4wd, yes i willl read the threads to see if my problem applies thanks

my bad i mistook the year on the truck disregard that part.

i have the vacumm hoses i suppose there is a leak, so i might as well just save and get the manual locking hubs. the link posted on the forum was great timing thanks smokeater

You have an electric shift transfer case. There is no linkage to adjust.

exactly, he has electric hubs too, he said everything was spinning except the tires, therefore the issue has got to be the hubs not engaging.
