For a well built off road tire that will also ride very nice on the road without wearing like crazy, which tire would be best?

Maxxis Bighorn?
Procomp Mud terrain?
Or the BFG km1 or km2?

Thank you!

Btw...tire would be a 33x12.50

im running the km's there not crazy loud on the road pretty good off road, but i only habe 3000 miles so i cant say much for wear... sorry... but i do have 2 sets, 1 of 33 12s 16s and some used ones i bout at 50% tread ill be puttin on soon for the winter

I just bought a set of the KM2's. So far I like them but I only have maybe 110 miles on them. Nice aggressive lugs and quiet. I'll know more later after I get out offroad.

+1 on the BFG KM1's i got a set of 33x12.50r15s and i'm lovin em. pretty quiet on the road and noice offroad, great for sllinging mud on your buddys (or rocks if you are an a$$). :headbang:

I have a set of Procomp MT 32/11.5x15 that I use primarily for off-road. I think they are a great off-road tire but don't like them for everyday driving. They seem to be wearing well. I have about 10,000 miles on them with much of that being off-road. They have a little small chunking on a few of the lug edges but nothing I am concerned about. Otherwise, the wear is not even noticeable yet.

On the highway they are somewhat noisy but are not annoying on long trips. Around town they seem more noisy and I can feel a light vibration at low speeds (less than 10 mph) due to the aggressive lugs. I find they work well in all off-road conditions. On the street they handle well for an off-road tire. They do well in the rain and dry conditions. I have not had them in snow but hear they do fairly well. I imagine as the sipes wear out the traction in wet conditions may deteriorate.

I have used BFG AT tires on my off-road vehicles since around 1978. I think they are a good all purpose tire but do not come close to being as good as the Procomp MT for off-road. That is probably true compared to any MT. When the BFG AT tires wore out on my FX4, I decided to use tires that were more specialized. I bought Michelin LTX M/S tires for the road and Procomp MT tires for off-road. Initially, the expense was high but in the long run it will balance itself out and so far I am very happy with that decision.
