A/C works great. Good and cold. But, when going uphill with Max A/C on, I hear the blower motor blowing, but no air is being blown out of the vents. It's like a door closed when I started uphill. When I switch to normal a/c, the air blows out fine. Also, on level ground, max a/c blows out fine.

Suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks!

My '90 Ranger, and my '00 Ranger both do the very same thing, I'm thinking it is some sort of vacuum chamber that is broken or a line that is not sealing, I have no idea where it is and how to repair it though... It's not a giant deal to me, so I haven't done too much research... Someone else may know more...

Definitely vacuum-related.

On top of the evaporator box under the hood there should be a round black cylindrical thing (vacuum reservoir) with a couple thin black hoses coming out of it. This is part of the system that operates the blend door for the recirculate/fresh air functions. I'd try tracing the hoses back from it to the engine vacuum manifold, and under the dash looking for a leak.

That's what I had suspected, just wasn't sure enough to give an answer:icon_thumby:

if it was the check valve it would affect more than just when on Max A/c. it would default to defrost. depending on your vehicle there is a "white" vacuum line going to your recirculating air door vacuum motor under the right side of your dash. check it for breaks, your can plug it with something and drive until you think you should be duplicating your problem. If it works normally at this time there is a problem w/your recirculating door motor, if it still acts up trace that white vacuum line a little further.
