i have a 94 ford ranger xlt 4.0 and my mass air flow went out on me new one will cost $185 and i have one laying around that came off my 94 ranger with a 2.3 if i shave off the little plastic blade and plugged it in would it work

Maybe for a little while, but they both max out at different levels, go to the junkyard and find one from another ranger or explorer 4.0 make sure to get the plug harness and the housing in case its different than yours. Oval as opposed to round and such. Cut yourself 6 extra inches of the wiring harness to make sure you have enough to splice if neccessary. Thats what I did and it was a 15 dollar fix.

thank u never thought bout cutting the wires to splice them thought id just look for a similar one
