Gotta 95 2.3L ranger 5 spd. Does anyone know the specs on that MAF?
Just wondering....i can't find it anywhere:dunno:

what kind of specs are you looking for? electrical? flow rating? diameter?

flow rating and diameter - would i be able to get the same measuerment if i just measured the diameter of it normally? geeez i'm stupid if so haha;missingteeth;

MAF sizes are given in nominal inside diameter in millimeters. if i remember correctly, the stock MAF is around 50mm. not sure on the flow rating...guess it would depend on what kind of pressure you put to it.

would i technically be right if i said this........

because the mass air flow sensor is heated elements that cool off when the air flows over it, i wouldn't have to change the mass air flow sensor if, say, i increased the flow of the air a little bit more? the sensor (which in simpler terms is a crude thermometer) would be able to sense more air flow, thus adding more fuel? I know it has flow restrictions, but our stock MAFs outta the 2.3L should be able to stand up to a few mods? :icon_confused:

thanks in advance

you would be right. thats the beauty thing about mass air flow systems, they are fully capable of adapting themselves to moderate changes in air flow. port and polish, gasket match, exhaust header, larger throttle body...your computer will notice these changes and add fuel until the injectors are maxed out (roughly 125 hp on a bone stock truck).

hey thanks for all your help..now i know!! and i can now pass that info like you did..thanks again man!!!
