OK the facts, 94 super cab, manual M50D, E1354 Transfer Case...

So here's the deal.. I've been hearing a clunk when going from a stop to 1st gear and then to 2nd gear for a while now, and even though it worried me I thought just drive the thing 'till the tranny sucks balls.. Today I pulled down the transmission to replace a defective slave cyl (what else is new, huh? :bawling:) and I manually turned the Transfer Case rear output shaft after disengaging the drive shaft and heard the clunk coming FROM the transfer case, not the transmission....

So.... I'm pretty sure this is not normal, and now that everything is pulled apart I'd like to know if there's a fix for this or if I should start looking for a manual transfer case.......

Any help will be greatly appreciated :icon_cheers:

No one has had this problem before?? :icon_confused:

i'd be looking for a manual tc anyway just to keep from having to change out the slaves in the elec. ones. after the swap, all that will be needed is changing the fluid at least yearly depending on how you drive it. just my $.02.
