Manual transmission replace

I have a manual transmission in a 1984 2 wheel drive 2.8 and need to replace .Was offered a 5- speed from a 2.9 E67A BC and need to know if it will bolt to my 2.8 Thanks Tried researching but no answers about this .

Yes it will
2.8l, 2.9l and 4.0l used same bellhousing bolt pattern

Check the length. Later transmissions are longer, and you'd need to swap the transmission crossmember and drive shafts to match.
